With the rapid growth of population and industrialization waste glass deposits are getting accumulated in the environment clean. In most of the US & UK countries the municipal waste contains large amounts of glass wastes such as glass bottles, glass containers used for household and industrial purposes and light bulbs etc. This glass waste can be of different types such as green glass, brown glass and may be colorless glass, occupying most of the space in municipal waste due to its high density. The glass in this waste can last for about 4000 years and by that time these deposits aggregate in the environment in huge amounts.

Recycling is the best remedy for glass disposal as it will protect the planet from these huge deposits.  But according to researchers Waste glass is not just waste, but a new resource. Manufacturing glass from sand, lime and soda takes much energy when compared to recycling. Recycling of glass also protects environment from by releasing less amount of carbon dioxide into environment when compared to making of new glass.

Recycling of glass can reduce air pollution by 20% and water pollution by 50%. Production of glass from recycling can be cheap method than making it from the raw materials. Hence using glass for recycling can remove waste from the planet which will keep environment clean from these green wastes.
